quadrat
(4 min)
The music piece and video "quadrat" by oqtai error are a further development of Müller’s radio feature on Russian modernism and the Black Square by Kasimir Malevich. Track and video were created in 2020/2021. Central motive for the video was the “domestic shrine” in reference to Malevich positioning his painting "The Black Square" high up on the wall across the corner of the room for the exhibition. In the music video, the square tries to reach the sacred spot and loses itself in a world of projections.
francis
(2:33 min)
The music video francis by oqtai error explores the feeling of alienation by reinforcing it through the strong contrast between complementary colors: striking yellow lemons and pool blue tiles. While several people are in frame, no genuine physical contact or exchange is happening between them.
Concept, set, production, text, vocals: Pauline Lotti Müller;
Cinematography, editing, beats: Jennes Menger.
